Heather was born in Lansing and grew up in Detroit.  She  graduated
from Michigan State University with honors, earning a B.A. in
Psychology.  She graduated from Wayne State University Law School.
 Heather is licensed to practice in the State of Michigan as well as the
U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan.  
She has also been admitted to practice pro hac vice in other
jurisdictions.  

Since graduating law school, Heather has focused her practice on
constitutional and family law issues.   Heather  was an associate
attorney at Constitutional Litigation Associates before becoming
senior staff attorney at the Women's Justice Center.  She returned to
civil litigation and was senior associate at Ernst & Associates before
launching Bendure & King.  

Heather  has served as a panelist in the annual Pro Bono Domestic
Violence Training Seminar and appeared as a guest radio show
panelist on police misconduct in Detroit.  She has also been
interviewed by newspapers in Detroit (Free Press, News, Metro
Times), Macomb County (Macomb Daily), Chicago, Boston, Virginia,
Florida, and California and by local and Canadian news stations
regarding cases in which she has been involved.    Heather is a member
of the following:

and is active in grassroots community and political organizing.  She is
currently a fellow at the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute and is  a

Violence.
